Hey guys! It’s Nicole. I have been selected to attend The Junior Statesman Summer School at Georgetown University in June. This enrichment program is open to 250 high school students in the United States who are passionate about the government and civic duties. It is a privilege to be accepted and I am excited to attend! I am very blessed and honored- being accepted to this program really means a lot to me.

            At the JSA Summer School I will be able to take college-level classes with distinguished university professors. I will also participate in nightly student debates of controversial public policy issues in a Congressional Workshop. Highlighting the month-long session will be frequent meetings with a high-level group of leaders from government, business, and the media. JSA gives students the opportunity to expand beyond classrooms, and meet and question political leaders all around D.C. Not only will there be many educational opportunities, but I will spend time at a leading Jesuit university, and get a great preview of living in a dorm.

            The total amount I need for my tuition in order to attend the Georgetown AP Government course in June is $4,750. The tuition includes room and board, as well as meals, transportation, and textbook fees. I am trying my best to help my parents by seeking out family and local organizations for help.

            Any type of donation will make a difference. Your contribution will definitely help me attend this fantastic program. I will be able to learn about how to get involved in our nation’s government and develop the skills to facilitate chance in our world. This is the direction I want to go in in college and I intend to pursue a career relating to this program.
